CHILD CARE - The meeting point of spiritual and secular child-rearing

Image
Many parents misunderstand the meaning of high quality care when it comes to bringing up their children. Is quality care about putting children in the most expensive schools and lavishing gifts and toys on them? Or is it about discipline and setting boundaries? In today’s busy world, many factors hinder parents from giving high quality care to their children. It is the writer’s intention to bring to light these problems and how to overcome them. The writer gives practical advice, goes into detail about the pitfalls surrounding parenting and how to give children high quality care in both secular and, most importantly, a God-fearing way: hence The Meeting Point.…  “Educative, enriching and empowering” …publishedbestsellers.com   Ebook | Kobo | Google Play | Amazon Kindle | Nook | Apple iBook

"I have read a lot of books... but none more entertaining and 'readable' than this one."

" If you have read 'Dane Mills Bosley', by the same author, then you must read this one as in my view, it is even better. It follows Chris Pownall journey from his early days at Primary School and names one or two fellow pupils who influenced his early life through to his days in the Merchant Navy, which are a real eye opener as he travelled the world, then onto his 40 years of employment with James Walker. Some of the stories are amusing, witty and entertaining and I, quite frankly, could not put the book down until I had finished it. It contains a few 'malapropisms' but to me these add to the overall enjoyment of the book. I have read a lot of books by some well established authors but none more entertaining and 'readable' than this one. A review of ‘Serendipity - A miscellany of short stories’

Image
In this book of short stories, John Butler demonstrates a rare talent for humorous comedy and three-dimensional writing skills, which make his work a joy to read. Each tale stands alone on merit and rightly deserves a place in the book. He does not insist on the convention that each story has to have a twist in the tail, but they are no less interesting for that. I’m not even sure that story is the right word for some of them, or does them full justice. If the reader wants variety then it is here in shed-loads. If thought provoking realism is your bag then you will find it in ‘The Death of the Hindenburg’ and others. The author’s light touch is carried on right through every page, so that you are quickly on to the next little satirical gem, almost before you realise it.

"ever been bored to tears and wanted to throw in a steady job that pays the bills?

" I came to this review knowing nothing of the author and had to get over the slightly ambivalent cover: was it a novel or a guide to running a successful business? The cover gave nothing away, and the back blurb was equally vague. I settled down to what was to become for me a very interesting novel. Have you ever been bored to tears and wanted to throw in a steady job that pays the bills and keeps you employed nine to five? Well Laurie, the main character in this novel, had the urge to do just that, and the thought kept niggling away at him to strike out on his own. This story rang very true to me because I have been there and met some of the truly ruthless business types that Laurie comes across in his quest to become a successful entrepreneur. Apart from being a highly entertaining novel, I would recommend this as a must read for any budding businessman. In down to earth terms the author illustrates that all success has a cost in personal relationships, family and fri
