Full of twists and turns... a must read. - LibraryThing Early Reviewer

I loved this book! Think Agatha Christie meets Sherlock Holmes and you're got it. Loved the Olde English charm from the setting of the book to the characters. The author grabs you from the first page.
The author takes you to a country home in Surrey, where Witton Park is located. It is a elegant home owned by Walter Sinnet, a not so nice man who has made his fortune by conning everyone around him. He has built this estate to be extremely lavish with man made lakes and an underwater folly smoking room. The Sinnet's are having a party with some interesting guests, one of which will be his demise. Everyone is a suspect when Walter is found floating above his own folly dead. Who would want him dead? The better question should be who wouldn't want him dead. All the guests have a reason to want him dead, even his wife. Yikes! In comes Inspector Marcus Thomas and the bumbling Constable Turner. They are there to try and figure out what is going on at the estate. Inspector Thomas's son James even tries to get in on the action since he is off school. Will they be able to flush out the killer before he or she leaves Witton Park scott free???
This book gives you a great mystery and who dunit as well as a fun adventure full of twists and turns. I didn't know who the killer was till the very end! I was shocked. This is a must read.

The Author
Having always had a love for English, Salema qualified to teach it as a foreign language and then went abroad to work in Lebanon. She taught adults at a language centre and eventually ended up helping at a school on the site of an orphanage where she met her husband. She wrote about the plight of the orphans and the article was published in the centre-spread of a Christian newspaper.
Salema has been obsessed with whodunits since she was a teenager and was challenged to write her own by her sister Jess. Not knowing where to start she took herself off to college to do a crime writing course with published crime authors Lesley Thomson and Elly Griffiths and hasn’t looked back since.
She currently lives in West Sussex where she takes care of her husband, two children and two cats (not necessarily in that order!).

Review of Fierce Thunder by 'Mountain Biking 4 Her'*

I will admit that I am not a huge action novel reader, so I may have started out with less enthusiasm than your average reader.  I was in it for the bikes. However, after getting to know the characters in the introductory chapters, I was eager to see what would unfold.
Fierce Thunder reads like an action movie--you can't help but envision the adventures. By the time the characters were deep in the forest of Mexico I was tempted to make myself some popcorn 'cause I knew I wasn't going to be able to put the book down until I finished. Jackie and Courtney's experience in the movie biz has obviously given them the ability to grab people hook line and sinker. Great characters making tough choices in a jungle filled with danger....ON BIKES! What could be better?

Fierce Thunder - A mountain biking vacation goes terribly awry in the Mexican jungle.

Fierce Thunder
By Courtney Silberberg and Jacquelyn Kinkade Silberberg

Life and death decisions confront them at every turn and ultimately,
greed decides who lives and dies.

A mountain biking vacation in Mexico goes awry when vacationers and their two guides stumble upon a massacre between rebel forces and militia over drugs and antique gold coins. The race for survival is on, the group is forced to deal with greed and betrayal, while being hunted by determined criminals who will stop at nothing to recover their loot. .....Find out more

The Silberbergs’ well-developed characters remain credible even in severe circumstances… The story races through invigorating twists, including double crosses among both the good and bad guys, an explosion or two, and the use of a bike as a weapon (of sorts)… A curvy thriller with a few unexpected turns.
...Kirkus Reviews

What is unique about the book?
FIERCE THUNDER was initially a screenplay we wrote and then adapted it to novel form.  It interested us when the positive reviews came in and that one said, “Lightning-fast thriller movie squeezed between covers.”  This of course excited and validated what we had set out to do… produce our story in two completely different and entertaining formats.
The adaptation was a tedious but fun process, as it allowed certain elements to breathe and expand.  Motivations and character depth were able to be clarified and woven, hopefully, into a tight tapestry of plot and quick moving structure.  It took a few months of writing, editing and transferring key elements, all the while trying to keep the pages turning.
The ultimate goal is for FIERCE THUNDER to find an audience that will want to read it and get some enjoyment out of it.  People’s time is so important, so for someone to read the book is really a compliment to us and something we don’t take for granted.

Lightning-fast thriller movie squeezed between covers

Book development history

Frequent travelers of beautiful Mexico and avid readers of what is happening in the world, we came up with the story of FIERCE THUNDER by combining our life experiences, real events and our imaginations.  We love hearing other people’s stories and their journey’s in life, then applying the “what ifs” to those situations.  An everyday event with everyday people can quickly become life threatening if the wrong decision is made or a new element is added to the mix.  That’s drama.  That’s what makes life interesting.  What would we (Courtney and Jacquelyn) do if we were on this amazing vacation in the beautiful beaches/jungles of Mexico and we came across a cache of gold and then were pursued by the nefarious owners?  We like to think we would make the right choices… and live to tell about it.

Exhilarating - be blown away

What is unique about the book?
Treachery and Triumph - An Anthology of World War II Stories  is a fascinating mixture of history, reminiscence and fiction, and will give the reader a unique insight into life during WWII. The reader will be able to stare into the past with the eyes of those gripped by its drama as most of the 14 contributing authors lived through the war; some in active service, while others have personally met the veterans who actually fought in the war and others have researched and written extensively on World War II. The view point of the stories is from an assortment of perspectives; those at the front, those left behind, the young at school and the old in the twilight of their years. Treachery and Triumph is like a kaleidoscope reflecting several fascinating real-life/ fictional World War II Stories from a variety of angles and positions.

Book development history

In December 2013, one of our authors read an anthology of Christmas murder stories, he suggested Pneuma Springs  produce an Anthology of Christmas Murders for the following Christmas. Pneuma Springs have a respectable stable of crime/fiction writers and we selected ten of our best crime/fiction authors to contribute an original short story to the anthology. An Anthology of Christmas Murders - Terror, Tinsel and Turkey was released in time for the Christmas of 2014. Following the  successful release of the first anthology and several enquiries received about another anthology, Pneuma  Springs decided to produce an  anthology  about one of the most defining periods in human history - World-War II, to commemorate seventy years after the end of hostilities.  Pneuma Springs chose 14 authors experienced in their field to contribute an original short story and this gave birth to Treachery and Triumph - An Anthology of World War II Stories - a fascinating mixture of history, reminiscence and fiction, into life during WWII.

Contributors: Editor: Jeremy Moiser | Authors - Karl Brockmann, Annie Coyle Martin, Julius Falconer, Peter Good, Neal James, Andrew Malloy, Steve Morris, Neil Morton, Ron Ooms, Chris Pownall, Derek Rosser, Avril Saunders, Derek Smith, Louise Wilkinson.

P. S. All the stories have been especially written for this Anthology by writers experienced in their field. Pneuma Springs is proud to present it to commemorate seventy years after the end of hostilities.

Experience the daunting majesty and dangers of the intricate British Columbia coast

The Last Days Of George Vancouver, RN
By Ron Palmer

An account of George Vancouver’s life based on his journals edited by Canadian scholar W. Kaye Lamb
Britain's interest in the Northwest coast of America was enlivened during the late 18th century. Showing little regard to Spain's blanket claim for the whole coast from Cape Horn to the very north of America, Britain was determined to claim as their own, the fur trade and whaling industry, however this led to tensions and Britain prepared for hostilities.
It was George Vancouver, in addition to his professional chart and surveying work, who carried out the diplomatic meeting with the Spanish commissioner on the terms of the Nootka Sound Agreement and negotiation with the Hawaiian chiefs for the islands to become a protectorate of Great Britain.
Alas for all these credible achievements he was never recognised until long after his death....Find out more

The Pen is Mightier than the Bomb

War is a Failure of Politics
By Henry Disney

Unashamedly political poems from an author that’s been criticised for being too hard on Bush and Blair as opposed to the likes of Hitler or Saddam

Henry Disney's experience has convinced him that it is folly for the West to intervene in conflicts in the Moslem world, not the least because it leads to a surge of recruitment to the most extreme Jihad movements. His experience has also served to reinforce his Christian commitment to the rejection of war as a means of solving political conflicts.
These pointedly political poems are punchy and hard-hitting, the author pulls no punches in denouncing the warmongers. He purports a different approach because he is convinced there is a better way - Christ’s way - a rejection of violence…

Over and Doubt ...Gracious English, dry wit, learned asides, well-researched background

Fancy a bit of political theory mixed up with your murder? a group of Danish students with daring plans for a new world order? a scam involving some missing music scores? wolf-ravens in Scandinavian folklore? Then this is the book for you!
The wife of a London modernist composer, unhappy in her marriage, seeks fresh interests at Copenhagen University, she gets involved in a student movement and meets a brutal death. The investigation uncovers some dubious characters and a confusing web of possibilities, but DI Wickfield is equal to the challenge – just! …

The Author - Member of an ancient but completely undistinguished York family, by chance born and brought up in the Midlands, Julius Falconer studied abroad before working as a translator back in the UK. Thinking that he could earn more as a teacher, to fund his extravagant life-style, he took a PGCE at Leeds University and duly turned to teaching. He slaved away at the chalk-face for twenty-six stirring years in both Cornwall and Scotland before retiring to grow cabbages in Yorkshire, where he still lives – when he’s not occupying a remote cottage in central France. His wife of thirty-three years unfortunately died in 2000. He has one daughter, married. In 2008, looking to fill his new-found leisure profitably(?), he started to write detective novels and is still happily scribbling away eighteen books later. Once Upon a Game - The Precarious Career of a Games Inventor

How do you get an idea for a game? What’s involved in developing it and making an initial prototype? How important is play-testing, and whom do you involve in that process? What are the tips for writing rules? How do you go about trying to get your idea onto the marketplace? What are the important parts of a contract?
This book won’t provide all the answers, but it will give you an insight into the fascinating, and sometimes frustrating world of games inventing based on Michael’s 55 years experience. Packed with lots of stories - the successes and failures; the laughter and tears, the delight and the boredom…

The Author
Michael lives with his wife, Maggie, in France. They write books and educational material together. Their daughter, Cath, has illustrated one of the books. Michael has been a Board and card games inventor and author for most of his life. According to him his qualification has been mostly from the 'University of life'! His published works include over 50 board and card games, and 15 books, most of which are detailed on his website: www.kindredgamesandbooks.co.uk
Michael's particular interests, apart from the inventing and writing, are in groupwork, teamwork, communication skills and setting cryptic crosswords.
Michael is available for interviews, blogs, writing educational material and devising board and card games to order.

World War 2 hero who fought through Adolf Hitler's Eagle Nest on a Bavarian mountaintop

Book Reviews:
“Clancy Lyall was a tough Texas farm boy who entered World War II as a 16-year-old paratrooper, fought, survived, and thrived alongside of a company of elite soldiers, then reenlisted and fought in both Korea and Vietnam. This is a powerful and warm-hearted story of an American hero, a must-read for any fan of the Band of Brothers.”
— Marcus Brotherton, author of We Who Are Alive & Remain

"Clancy Lyall was one of the Band of Brothers lesser-known, unsung, heroes. A veteran who transferred into Easy Company after being wounded in Normandy, he fought beside Dick Winters and the others through Holland, Belgium and on to Adolf Hitler's Eagle Nest on a Bavarian mountaintop. The book is like having an informal, one-on-one, chat with Lyall, filled with rich detail and little known facts of the man known as Silver Eagle."
— Larry Alexander, bestselling author of "Biggest Brother: The Life of Major Dick Winters, the Man Who Led the Band of Brothers"
"Anyone interested in the fighting men behind 'Band of Brothers' will enjoy 'Silver Eagle.' This book highlights the end of an era as Clancy Lyall's personal story is told in his own words, which although occasionally naïve, illustrate a time where values and conduct were second to none - absorb and enjoy."
— Ian Gardner, Co-Author of 'Tonight We Die As Men' and author of 'Deliver Us From Darkness.'
